Sand Castings

At Ferralloy, Inc., we offer sand casting as a low-cost method for producing both small and large parts from a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

The sand casting process is exceptionally geared for producing large scale workpieces, and we have the resources that allow us to efficiently produce high volumes of parts. With its low tooling investment, sand casting is also ideal for short run work as well. We use green sand, as well as, no-bake molds and cores to reproduce complex shapes from steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel grades, in addition to a wide variety of metals, such as aluminum, nickel, titanium, and many more. Sand casting typically yields parts with a rougher surface finish than other methods, but we have the resources to finish machine sand cast parts to improve the surface profile and bring dimensional tolerances to ±.003”.
